Victor Harbour Rd Duplication, Fleurieu Peninsula, SA
The federal and state government of South Australia have jointly committed $810M to fund the Victor Harbour and Main South Road duplication projects between Main South Road and the McLaren Vale turnoff, and Main South Road from Seaford to Sellicks Beach, respectively.
Project Design Brief
Adjacent to the Victor Harbour Road duplication, a new cable route was rolled out containing important state-owned services. Access to cables had to be protected from theft and vandalism, lids had to be pedestrian safe, and pits easy to maintain.
ACO's Solution
- Type 95 polymer concrete pit with PowerLok® steel lids
Benefits
- PowerLok® lids comprise a lockable spring loaded hatch with catch which when opened gives access to a lock box containing a padlock or security bolt.
- PowerLok® lids have a slip resistance rating of R10 to AS 4586 for pedestrian safety.
- PowerLok® lids, once locked, do not contain any cumbersome loose bars or bolts, helping to keep metallic components away from cables.
